Mu’azu, Ogbemudia named chairmen of varsity councils


President Goodluck Jonathan yesterday approved the composition and appointment of chairmen and members of governing councils for 21 federal government owned universities.

A statement by Secretary of the Government of the Federation Senator Anyim Pius Anyim, said Don Etiebet, Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, Adamu Mu’azu and Kashim Imam  are those appointed chairmen, with Mike Okiro, Ghali Na’abba Senator Abubakar Sodangi and John Nwodo making the members’ list.
The council for Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Bauchi is to be chaired by Yahaya  Mahmood, SAN with Hajiya Hauwa Bukar,  Alhaji  Isa Tafida Mafindi, Chief Mark Odua and Dr (Mrs) Chinweokwu Anyamene-Okeke as members.
Arc Mohammed Dewu emerged as chairman for Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria with former Inspector General of police Mike Okiro, Mrs  Moremi  Soyinka-Onijala, Suleiman Lawal Kauru and Tony Onyima as members.
Bayero University Kano has Adamu Mu’azu as chairman with Fatima Rasaki, Prof (Mrs) Josephine Okpoko, Dr Yakubu Kwari and Alh. (Dr) Ahmad  Abubakar as members.
Senator Ogunseye Ogunlewe emerged chairman for Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta with Chief Kayode Akindele, Ghali Na’abba, Professor Femi Otubanjo and Abba Dasuki as members.
Federal University of Agriculture, Makurdi has Chief Chike Cletus Udenze as chairman with Pivlumon Aminde, Princess Ethel Eweka, Rear Admiral Peter Ebeleme (rtd) and  Abdul-Mujib Adetokunbo Mumuni as members.
On its part, Federal University of Technology, Akure has Alhaji Yarima Abdullahi as chairman with Chief Joel Madaki, Lukman Erogbogbo, Jelani Mohammed Yauri and Arc Benjamin Chijioke Nnaji as members.
Federal University of Technology, Minna has Professor Ahmed Rufa’i   Alkali as chairman with Dr. Godfrey Imoagene, Ahmed Tahir, Alhaji Abubakar Ibrahim Umar and Prof. Taoheed Adedoja as members, while the Federal University of Technology, Owerri has Dr. Emmanuel M. I. Enemuo as chairman with Pastor Godwin Akpovie, Bright Nebedun, Gen. T. Hananiya and Ambassador C.C.Agubuzo as members.
Sanusi Munguno emerged chairman for Federal University of Technology, Yola with Dr Adewunmi Williams, Dr Kaleel  Ibrahim Ahmad, Senator Abubakar Danso Sodangi and Princess Taibat Adeyemi-Agaba as members.
Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka has AVM Larry Koiyan (rtd) as chairman while Mr. John Nwodo, Chief (Barr) J. M. Aseh, Buhari Bala and Senator Fidelis Okoro emerged as members.
On its part, University of Abuja has Dr Samuel Ogbemudia as chairman with Alhaji Mahe Dange, Professor .O. Adegbulube, Aisha S. Mamuda and Professor Ediga Agbo as members.                                                
Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu emerged chairman of University of Calabar with Dr Phillips Salawu, Sulieman Nakowa, Bassey Ebir Asuquo and Otunba Mohammed Iluoeju as members, while University of Ibadan has General Adeyinka Adebayo (rtd) as chairman with Ambassador Lawrence Ekpebu, Senator Jubril El-Mas’ud Doguwa, Barrister Samuel Iheoma Nwatu and Dr. Anthony Uche Mba as members.
University of Jos has Chief Don Etiebet as chairman with Tunde Akogun, Anthony   Sani, Alhaji Adamu Jamfalan and Mrs Uju Uzoka as members, while University of Maiduguri has Kashim Imam as Chairman with Engineer Paul Attah, Princess Gloria Frazer, Adamu A. Waziri and Chief Innocent Okparadike as members.
University of Port Harcourt has Mr Gesi Asamowei as chairman while Mrs Joyce Bozimo, Mohammed Iyimoga, Dr Nelson Olaniyi and Mr Okey Ajunwa as members.                          
For Usman Dan Fodio University, Sokoto, George Oshiaphaghor emerged chairman while Patience Onah Ogodo, Alhaji Yusuf Yabo, Kashim Muktar Mahmud and Alhaji Bello Abdullahi Sokoto emerged members.
Professor Emeka Enejere emerged chairman for University of Nigeria, Nsukka with Salisu Buhari, Chador Labar, Barrister Harison Onwu and Chief Akin Taiwo as members.
University of Ilorin has Professor Chukwuma Okonjo as chairman with Prince Felix Akande, Dr Abdulrasheed Salam, Dr S. Ogbere and Dr Bayo Aluko-Olokun as members.
For University of Uyo, Akwa-Ibom state, Professor Kimse Okoko emerged chairman with Gen (Dr) John W. Gbor, Alhaji  Aliyu Kaulaha, Isiah Adegbemiga Abiola and Rev. (Mrs) Grace  Ekanem as members while Federal University of Petroleum Resources, Effurun has Senator Barigha Amange as chairman with Dr. (Mrs) Ngozi Iheduru, Adamu Yusuf Dari, Sen. Victor Kassim Isa-Oyofo and Dr. Anthony U.Eze as members.
