HTC First: Facebook phone likely to be launched

Social networking giant Facebook is likely to launch a smartphone running on Google’s mobile operating system Android at an event on Thursday.

Though the company has not really reveal anything about the launch, it has invited journalists for an event what it calls its "new home on Android”.

To be launched in collaboration with HTC Corporation, the new Facebook phone will be called “HTC First”, reports said.

The event scheduled for Thursday will take place at the company's Menlo Park, California headquarters.

An image of the HTC First Facebook phone has been leaked online by EVleaks, as it claims.

As per reports and the leaked picture, the HTC First will be rectangular in shape.

According to the reports some of the specifications are given below.

Operating System: Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean)

Screen: 4.3-inch with 720p display

Processor: Qualcomm Snapdragon S4

RAM: 1GB
