Father pays daughter $200 to quit facebook

Desperate to get your teenager to quit Facebook? Try reaching into your wallet, like one Boston father.
Paul Baier, a research consultant in Boston, is paying his 14-year-old daughter a cool $200 to quit the social network until summer, according to a post on his blog that has been making the rounds. Baier on Tuesday posted an image of the "Facebook Deactivation Agreement," with his daughter, Rachael.

In the agreement (below), signed by both parties, the teen promised to deactivate the social network from this past Monday until June 26. In return, Baier will pay his daughter $50 in April and the remaining $150 in June, at the end of the five months.
"He/she will have access to my Facebook to change the password and to deactivate the account," the contract reads. "This will prevent me from re-activating the account in the future."
Baier wrote on his blog that the arrangement was actually his daughter's idea. In the signed contract, Rachael wrote that she plans to use the money for "stuff."
According to a report from the New York Daily News, Rachael wants to quit Facebook so she can focus on her studies, instead of wasting time on the social-networking site, until she finishes school at the end of June.
Bribing your teen is one way to limit their Facebook time, or you could take more extreme measures — like destroying their laptop, as one father recently did. Tommy Jordan, an IT worker from North Carolina, found fame online last year after responding to his daughter's nasty Facebook post with a YouTube video that ended with him emptying a round of bullets into her laptop.
