Islamist sect Boko Haram claims that the girls shown in
their latest video are some of the schoolgirls kidnapped from a hostel in
Chibok on 14 April.
BBC News reports that the video shows at least 100 girls
who have supposedly been converted to Islam.
Boko Haram leader Abubakar Shekau has demanded the release
of imprisoned Boko Haram members in exchange for the abducted girls.
According to a report by The Telegraph, Shekau will only
return the children to their parents once all the imprisoned members have been
released.
The Nigerian army's attempts to rescue the girls have
been unsuccessful and their location has yet to be determined.
