Kanye West facing battery allegations

It looks like Kanye West will have to sweat it out for at least another day, as police are still investigating after the 36-year-old rapper was named as a suspect in what is presently labeled as a misdemeanor battery incident.
On Monday, Yeezy's now-famous temper may have gotten the better of him. Again. But before you rush to judge, it's probably worth considering the fact that he was allegedly defending his baby mama and bride-to-be, Kim Kardashian, from a young man who was verbally assaulting her.

While few details have been confirmed, an unnamed source told E! News Kim was heading into the building to meet Kanye for an appointment when she encountered a young man screaming racial slurs (including the N-word) at the paparazzi. Displeased with his conduct, she stopped to tell him he shouldn't speak to people that way, prompting him to tell her to "shut the f--k up."
But their altercation didn't end there, because he allegedly remained up in Kim's face, shouting at her. Right around this moment, Kanye happened to call his betrothed. When she answered, he overheard her crying as the man continued to scream. "She was genuinely scared," the source adds. Not surprisingly, West rushed to confront him.
What exactly Yeezus did to confront the man remains unknown; however, it sounds like the man in question is claiming West got physical. Beverly Hills police confirm to "The Insider" that officers responded to a call on the 9900 block of Wilshire Boulevard at 12:15 p.m, but by the time officers arrived on the scene, Kanye was gone, leaving the victim (and several witnesses) to name the star as the suspect.
As of now, officials are still trying to sort this one out (which is perhaps why no one from the Kardashian camp has commented just yet). And while West has a history of acting out when he shouldn't, we can't say we agree with some of the things the man was allegedly saying either.
