SAD AND FUNNY: Suspect Used Infant Son As A Shield In Standoff with the Police

Authorities say a burglary suspect used his 7-month-old son as a shield during a police standoff in Estacada.

The Clackamas County sheriff's office says deputies were trying to arrest Raleigh Reynolds on Saturday when he ran from his house, jumped a fence and tried to hide at his sister's house next door.

When Reynolds finally came outside, deputies say he tried to use his infant son as a shield.

The baby was not hurt.

Reynolds eventually surrendered. He was jailed on charges of burglary, endangering a minor and resisting arrest.

Reynolds also was arrested in February on drug charges after he inadvertently dialed 911 just before a drug deal.
