Suprise Birthday gift to Kate Middleton

Kate Middleton and Prince William were set to go house hunting after her birthday this week, but Her Majesty the Queen has trumped Prince William’s surprise birthday gift of a country home. According toEntertainmentwise on Sunday, Jan. 6, she is giving them one – Anmer Hall, in Norfolk. “The house has been earmarked for William and Kate,” said a source on the Sandringham estate, where the Queen normally spends the winter. Previously, it was rented out.

An apartment is already being redecorated for Kate Middleton and Prince William in Kensington Palace, in the heart of London. But sometimes a couple – especially a couple with small children – need a place to have privacy and quiet. A place where Lupo can run. A place of their own.
Prince William spent a lot of time in Anmer Hall as a child, so he is quite familiar with the place. Now, hopefully, his own children can enjoy the same sense of country freedom their father did. The house is close, but not too close, to the Sandringham estates.
The use of the late-Georgian house must have come as a surprise to Prince William, too, because he had been looking at real estate selections with an eye to buying a place as a birthday gift for his duchess. Kate Middleton and Prince William were set to start house-hunting in earnest later this month, with her choosing from among the selections he had already made. But a gift of an estate the prince already loves is much better. Let the renovations begin, because the baby won’t wait.
