Something good in Nigeria again after a long queue of horrifingsad stories. We look forward to more.
Check this:
AGAIN, the Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital (NAUTH) Nnewi in Anambra State has successfully performed knee joint replacement surgeries on seven patients.
The hospital has also appointed the former chairman, Medical Advisory Committee (CMAC), Dr. Anthony Igwegbe, as the acting Chief Medical Director (CMD) of the hospital.
The immediate past CMD of the teaching hospital, Prof. Robinson Ofiaeli, who disclosed this to newsmen at the weekend, explained that an orthopedic surgeon and a senior consultant from Fortis Hospital, Shalimar Bagh Deli India, Dr. Subhash Jangid, led the team of doctors from NAUTH to carry out the surgeries.
In his speech, Igwegbe recalled that the hospital had earlier in November 2012 performed its first successful hip replacement surgeries on three patients, saying the knee joint replacement surgery is another breakthrough in the heath care delivery system in the country.
