FG gives 6-month ultimatum to contractor to Complete the Oshodi - Apapa Expressway

The Federal Government yesterday issued a six-month ultimatum to Brooni Proni, the contractor handling the trinity bus-Stop end to Coconut of the ever busy Oshodi Apapa Expressway  to complete the job, even as it was revealed that the stoppage of works at the Tin-can 2nd gate end of the expressway was due to non-release of fund and refusal of occupants on the right of way to vacate.

Minister of State for Works, Bashir Yuguda, gave the directive when he and the Minister of Transport, Senator Idris  Umar inspected the level of works done on the  road.
Earlier the site engineer, Mrs. Osereme Osakwe, had told the Ministers that non-release of N1.64 billion part payment of N8.6 billion total cost of the contract and the refusal of occupants of right of way to vacate stalled the job.
Yuguda, however, assured that funds would soon be released to the contractors, to ensure they meet the May 31, 2013 deadline.

It was time the ultimatum was given as the project was taking forever to complete.
