Hospitalized since Nov. 23, former President George H.W. Bush is expected to be released in the coming week according to CNN.
"We are hopeful that he can be discharged this coming week, but we're still taking everything one day at a time," spokesman Jim McGrath said Saturday night.
Bush's son and former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush told a Vero Beach crowd that his father will be released on Monday according to TCPalm.com.
The 41st president was originally hospitalized for bronchitis as doctors monitored a lingering cough. A fever put Bush into intensive care shortly after Christmas
According to McGrath, Bush has spent his time in the hospital cheering on the Texas A&M and Houston Texan football teams and enjoyed a telephone performance by the Oak Ridge Boys.
