Britney Spears has quit “The X Factor” … and now she has also quit her fiancé.
"Jason and I have decided to call off our engagement," Spears tells People in a statement. "I'll always adore him and we will remain great friends."
Adds Trawick: "As this chapter ends for us a new one begins. I love and cherish her and her boys and we will be close forever."

Rumors had been rampant ever since the “Scream and Shout” singer stepped out for a coffee run in Calabasas, California, on January 7 without her three-carat Neil Lane engagement ring – or Trawick. Though it’s unclear as to when they broke up, the former agent had remained a constant fixture by Spears’ side while she taped “The X Factor,” but once the show ended on December 20, they must have gone their separate ways.
Trawick has been spending time in New York with friends and was in Miami on New Year’s Day for a college football game, thus missing the romantic holiday with his millionaire fiancée.
On Friday, TMZ reported that the couple – who got engaged in December 2011 – had a “friendly breakup” and that they simply “grew apart.” As of press time, the site also claimed that lawyers involved with Spears’ conservatorship were in court to officially remove Trawick as one of the singer’s conservators, along with her father Jamie Spears.
Before the split, things had been tense for the two because “Jason definitely feels resentful toward Britney because he gave up his career and everything he spent years working for in order to be everything to Britney,” an insider close to Trawick told omg!. “He feels like his whole world is Britney now – and he isn’t psyched about it.”
Trawick, who used to represent Taylor Swift and Paris Hilton at the height of his career as an agent at WME, quit the powerful company in May 2011 to head up entertainment at Famos.com, but according to its Website, it’s still in “dress rehearsals” and its Twitter account has not been used since last August. Famos’ CEO Rent Sidon tells omg! that Trawick “is most certainly still a part of” the company. “We have been deep in development after our initial live testing over the last year. Expect to see and hear a lot more from famos* in the coming months!”
Without Spears by his side, it looks like Trawick will have plenty of time to focus on his career now.
