It's a ring fit for a Diva!
Making her first public appearance since she accepted Brandon
Blackstock's marriage proposal, Kelly Clarkson stepped out at Sunday's VH1
Divas concert wearing her massive yellow diamond engagement ring.
Without a doubt, the 30-year-old
singer had a special glow as she stepped on the stage at the Shrine Auditorium
to perform "Catch My Breath." Wearing a colorful, fairytale-inspired
dress, Clarkson's new jewelry was on full display as she performed.
The ring features a huge canary diamond as the centerpiece with
smaller diamonds outlining the main stone. There are additional smaller-sized
diamonds going all the way around the band. "Brandon designed it with
[jeweler] Johnathon Arndt," Clarkson wrote on WhoSay on
Saturday. "They did an amazing job!"
Clarkson
will soon do some designing of her own. The Texas native said she plans to
design Blackstock's wedding band. "I can't wait to make Brandon's ring
with Johnathon as well," she wrote.
As for when the
wedding will take place, it could be any time after their wedding rings are
ready as Clarkson, who started dating the talent agent last year, has said she
has no desire to have a big, splashy wedding. Instead, she wants to elope.
"Honestly I've never been the girl to plan a wedding," she said on
the "Ellen DeGeneres Show" in November. "We will totally,
probably elope."
Clarkson also talked about how she was looking forward to spending
her first Christmas with Blackstock, who is divorced."This is going to
sound like I'm making a joke, but it is so not. It is serious. I am not alone
for the first time for Thanksgiving and Christmas - and I am very happy."
